Vehicles Sales Increase to 15.7 million SAAR in April; Up Slightly YoY
2 days ago by Calculated Risk @ Calculated Risk

Wards Auto released their estimate of light vehicle sales for April: U.S. Light-Vehicle Sales Trudge Along with Tepid Growth in April (pay site).Affordability continued to dominate the sales mix as gains in entry-price CUV and car segments more than offset downturns recorded in most other segments. While the SAAR and the daily selling rate were up, raw volume declined year-over-year due to April 2024 having one fewer selling day than in 2023. Sales in the first four months of 2024 totaled 5.1 million units, up 3% from January-April 2023’s 4.9 million.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXbgdaz-aAzM6fMzFmAWKsPXVxdk3pPlUN8b6oUKyLNeKwTS-Bd2NPTBOfUBqLucgzNxlRpBLXoJ47-YvRsq-B3hFiQOOMDtHv3sVlNENAFMh8ebp7vmrVK8srMetdrFL4z-Al0FAy5u4KVXTVGBI7TZ9OA75gzMVEx8l_u8T-b7Sa-dbgtUrV/s967/VSShortApr2024.PN" style="margi...

Large "Inverse Hammers" kill rally in Indices
2 days ago by noreply@blogger.com (Declan Fallon) @ Fallond Picks

Today was not a great day for bulls; what looked promising for all indices intraday, was cooked by the close. The percentage loss for the day was not the issue, it was the intraday spread that caused the problem. In the case of the S&P and Nasdaq, current action since April lows has the look of 'bear' flags, and if they play out as such, then we need to look for measured moves lower (again, bringing the 200-day MAs into play).
